Our "Code of Practice"
All our students have been trained in ear piercing before we allow them to perform a service on real people.
We are duly registered for skin penetration with the Council of the city of Stonnington.The Council assessed our procedures before issuing any permit.
We use the "Inverness Method" to pierce ears. This involves the use of a gun, into which are loaded pre-sterilised studs and butterflies. There is no personal contact with the stud prior to discharge and therefore there is no real risk of contamination in normal use. Where double packs of studs are used, if only one ear is pierced then the remaining stud must be disposed of. We keep accurate records of any piercing we perform.
You MUST purchase our antiseptic spray and you MUST use it regularly, since we can not be held accountable for your negligence.
We strictly follow the following procedure:
- Wash and dry hands at beginning of session.
- Seat customer, mark ear lobes, preferably with gentian violet pen.
- Place clean paper tissue or towel on table top, or customer's shoulder.
- Clean customer's ears with spirit swab (eg. med i-swab).
- Wash operator's hands again and dry with a paper towel.
- Open pre-sterilised pack and pierce ears.
- Adjust tightness of earring in each ear using clean tissue to hold the earring. (This does not apply to nose piercing)
- Dispose of plastic capsules or holders, swabs, and paper tissues and towel in plastic-lined bin.
- Wash the hands again and dry with a paper towel.
- Explain after-care to customer.

After piercing care
For proper healing and satisfaction with your newly pierced ears or nose, follow these easy cleaning instructions.
Please note: many of the problems arising from ear or nose piercing result from poor care after the piercing.
- Cleanse the piercing twice a day.
- Be sure to cleanse especially after shampooing, swimming or exercising.
- Use our specially formulated Antiseptic when cleansing. You may use isopropyl alcohol as an alternative temporary substitution for Ear and Nose Care Antiseptic.
- Always cleanse hands prior to touching your ears or nose.
- Use a clean cotton swab to apply the Antiseptic.
- Push the earring gently forward and backward, swabbing between your ear or nose and the earring or nose ring.
- Rotate the stud twice daily to prevent it from adhering to the ea or nose.
- Cover your ears or nose when using hair spray or perfume.
- DO NOT remove earrings before the specified time: Earlobe Piercing: Keep earrings in for 4 to 6 weeks.
- Be careful that earrings don't get caught when brushing your hair or pulling clothes over your head.
- Take extra care when exercising or playing sports.
