Description: Certificate II in Make-up Services is suitable for people working in a salon or store providing general and specialist personal make-up services. They demonstrate skin care products, design and apply personal make-up for a variety of contexts and settings including everyday, bridal, photography, and camouflage requirements.

The course covers everything you need to know about applying make up, skin and nail care products. It also teaches you all the essentials for working in the industry – from communicating in the workplace, through providing service to clients, to how to sell products and work effectively in a retail environment.

Once completed you will be able to provide advanced make up services including

· Manicure

· Pedicure

· Make up application including bridal

· Photographic make up

· Camouflage make up

Pre requisite: There is no pre requisite for this course. However the learner’s language, literacy and numeracy levels are expected to be equivalent to Level 2 of the National Reporting System. After submitting your application form you will be asked to attend a short enrolment interview.

Duration: 12 Weeks Full Time.

Delivery and assessment context
In house classroom environment with practical sessions. Assessment is mainly conducted by observation of the student in a simulated salon environment. Written learning activities are given to the students as well as written test.

Work placement:
As a mandatory part of this course, students are required to seek workplace training.
At the end of the course students are invited to seek work placement for two weeks in a salon of their choice.
